OML is a non-profit collective in Berlin and is part of the Give Something Back To Berlin community. Its aim is to demonstrate the power of community and celebrate cultural differences. The Redox compilation is the first release from the collective and is born out of channeling creativity in a safe space for vulnerable or underprivileged people.
More than a year a go Mary Anne Hobbs introduced us to fine group of people at Open Music Lab in Berlin. We wanted to help and started to do master classes and ended up mastering the release.
Redox captures a moment in the creative evolution of a group of OML students. Future bass, ghostly harmonies, crunching techno, cinematic dub, latin chanson and delicate electronica all fuse together over these 7 tracks in a fearlessly bold, eclectic and seamless musical journey. The compilation’s been featured by Resident Advisor, Untitled909, BBC Radio 6 and more; the stunning cover design is by Sophie Douala.
